Shakayla and Tishanna
Tishanna is growing strong and happy thanks to her deadly mum
Shakayla loves being a mum to bub Tishanna, who is thriving at seven months old.
Kirsten Kamperman, Shakayla's nurse home visitor from Central Australian Aboriginal Congress ANFPP in Alice Springs, is proud to walk alongside Shakayla while she grows as a strong, self-empowered young mother.

Shakayla says she enjoys waking up to Tishanna’s happy smiles in the morning.
When asked what she would tell others about being a mum Shakayla says, “At first it is hard, then it’s good. Every day is happy”.
Tishanna is a happy, smiling little one.
Shakayla says that Tishanna is rolling over, talking in baby talk “all the time” and can wave and high five.
She is a very smiley baby and Shakayla says she feels happy being her mum.

Tishanna went for her first swim last month and is really enjoying eating solid food.
Shakayla and Kirsten recently went for a cooking session at the local early learning centre and Shakayla made a healthy meal of fried rice for her whole family.
Shakayla says being a mum is hard, but good.
They have an upcoming visit planned at the reptile centre as Tishanna went to the zoo in Adelaide and she “really liked all the monkeys just jumping around”.
