The ANFPP is a free service available to eligible women living in specific areas. As part of the program expectant mothers are visited by a Nurse Home Visitor during their pregnancy up until their baby is 2 years old.
In Australia, women may be eligible to participate in the ANFPP if they are pregnant with an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander baby and living within the geographical boundaries of the implementing site.
The underlying principles of the ANFPP are to improve the health, well-being and self-sufficiency of young mothers and their children using a client-centred, strengths-based, solution-focused approach.
